And leave us not forget Caruso, our FAV dachsund:

Now for your further wee ones viewing pleasure our most FAV Thanksgiving Cartoon, "Mouse on the Mayflower". Make this movie a Thanksgiving tradition in your home this year and every year:

We perform the following fingerplays, songs, and poems to help bring in the Thanksgiving Holiday as well:

A Turkey I Saw

A turkey I saw on thanksgiving,
Her tail was spread so wide.
Shhh....don't tell that you've seen her,
(Make a shhh sound with forefinger to lips)
For she's running away to hide.
(make fist for turkey and spread fingers of other hand for tail)

A Turkey is a Funny Bird

Sing to:  All Around the Mulberry Bush

A turkey is a funny bird,
His head goes wobble, wobble, wobble.
And all he says is just one word,
"Gobble, gobble, gobble."

Another Version:

Sing to:  Pop Goes the Weasel

A turkey is a funny bird,

His head goes wobble, wobble.

He knows just one funny word,

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!

A Turkey Sat on a Backyard Fence

A turkey sat on a backyard fence
And he sang this sad, sad tune:
"Thanksgiving Day is coming (Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble)
And I know I'll be eaten soon!
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble,
Gobble, gobble,gobble, gobble,
I would like to run away--
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble,
I don't like Thanksgiving Day!"

Albuquerque the Turkey

Sing to: O' My Darlin' Clementine

Albuquerque, he's my turkey,
and he's feathered and he's fine
and he wobbles and he gobbles
and I'm awfully glad he's mine.

He's the best pet you could ever get
better than a dog or cat
Albuquerque, he's my turkey
and I'm awfully glad of that.

Albuquerque, he's my turkey
he's so cozy in his bed
because for our Thanksgiving dinner
we had scrambled eggs instead.

Another Version:

Albuquerque is a turkey,
And he's feathered and he's fine,
And he wobbles and he gobbles,
And he's absolutely mine.

He's the best pet that you can get,
Better than a dog or cat.
He's my Albuquerque turkey,
And I'm very proud of that.

He once told me, very frankly,
He preferred to be my pet--
Not the main course at my dinner,
And I told him not to fret.

Now my Albuquerque turkey
Is so happy in his bed,
'Cause for our Thanksgiving dinner,
We had egg foo yong instead.

Did You Ever See a Turkey?

Sing to: Did You Ever See a Lassie?
Did you ever see a turkey,
A turkey, a turkey,
Did you ever see a turkey
Run this way and that?
He runs, and he runs,
But he won't get away.
He is going to be my dinner on Thanksgiving Day!
